  Springs of Air
I know its been a while since my last update. Sometimes I wonder how I ever get anything done, as busy as life seems to be. Anyway, Air Lift sent us a set of air springs so we can stabilize the weight in the back of the truck. The leaf springs are able to support the weight, but we have a lot of side to side sway as well as the need to keep the truck level when the skid unit is fully loaded. The way the brackets are designed, do not even come close to putting the air springs anywhere near the leaf springs. However, with the brackets turned upside-down, the fit is nearly perfect. In fact, the shape of the bracket fits the shape of the truck's frame much better in this configuration. So we had the edge of the brackets cut and new metal welded on the other side. The good news is that the onboard air components are out of the way and everything should mate up very nicely. The only other obsticle is cutting off the excess lengths of the rear u-bolts so the bracket will sit on the spring pack. Once the brackets come back from the custom powder coating shop, we'll be ready to get everything bolted up. Stay tuned for the updates. Better yet, check out the Project Responder website.
