  Capping it off
Project Responder is now in the final stages of production and should be ready to roll by the middle of September. One of the tasks left to complete is some detailing work. Just to give you an idea of how 'anal' the builders are, they are even going as far as putting those little vinyl plastic caps on the ends of any bolts that are sticking up anywhere. The rear U-bolts, the body mounts, you name it, if it has threads and it's exposed, it's getting a plastic cap. Now that's attention to detail :)

  Getting listed in the directories
Project Responder just got listed in the yahoo directory! Although they did screw up and put the site in the wrong category. But hey, just getting listed is the main thing, right? PR just submitted to another directory as well called the Yeandi Directory. PR is trying to get it's site listed with as many of the directories as possible. If you have a site that has anything to do with trucks, firefighting, rescue or emergency vehicles, please link to the PR site (www.projectresponder.com)

  ECCO to the rescue...
The great folks over at ECCO have come to the rescue! They are sending out the replacement lightbar parts by three day ground service so we'll have them by the end of the week. This will work out perfectly since it won't be until next week when we're ready to get the bedliner and skid unit installed. Now all we have to do is figure out how to keep the lenses on. ;)

  Good news and bad news...
The good news is that after 3½ years of long, hard work, my '87 Ford F250 passed inspection. The bad news is that on the return trip from the shop, the lenses on the ECCO lightbar came off and went flying onto the highway. In my rearview mirror, I saw the lenses go flying and I saw the dump truck behind me completely pulverize them. :( So I've got a call into the ECCO offices and I hope to have a new set of lenses and mirrors very soon to put back on the bar. Otherwise I'll have to put the old mx7000 lightbar back on the truck and I hope it does not come to that.

So it's finally getting close. I've submitted my application for personalized license plates and hope to have something cool to put on the truck before my trip to LasVegas.
